Artist Terms, Usage & Rights

These Artist Terms, Usage & Rights ("Artist Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("Artist," "you," or "your") and Salvaje Universe ("we," "us," or "the Platform") governing your use of the Platform as a verified artist. By submitting an artist application, being approved as an artist, or using any artist features, you agree to these Artist Terms in full, in addition to our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines.

We built this Platform with one mission: artists should keep their money, control their music, and get paid instantly. No middlemen skimming off the top. No opaque "per-stream" fractions of a penny. No waiting months for a royalty deposit. This document explains exactly how that works.

Traditional streaming platforms pay artists a fraction of a penny per stream — often between $0.003 and $0.005. To earn the U.S. monthly minimum wage from streams alone, an artist would need hundreds of thousands of plays every single month. The payout calculations are opaque, the money passes through multiple intermediaries (labels, distributors, performing rights organizations), and artists wait 60–90 days or longer to receive what they're owed.

We reject this model entirely. Salvaje Universe does not pay per-stream royalties. Instead, we've built a direct, transparent, tip-based economy where fans choose to pay artists directly — and 100% of that money reaches the artist, virtually instantly, through Stripe.

As a verified Salvaje Universe artist, you receive the following benefits at no cost:

Our payment model is built on three principles: simplicity, transparency, and artist-first economics. Here is exactly how every dollar flows.

4.1 No Per-Stream Royalties

We do not calculate or pay per-stream royalties. There is no stream-count formula, no revenue-share pool, and no opaque payout rate. Streaming on the Platform is free for listeners. Revenue is generated when fans choose to financially support you directly — through tips, ticket purchases, and merch sales.

4.2 Fan Tips — The Core Revenue Model

Any listener can send you an instant tip of any amount at any time, directly through the Platform. Tips are voluntary payments from fans who want to support your music. Here's how it works:

• A fan taps the tip button on your track, profile, or live stream.
• They choose any amount — $1, $5, $10, $50, or whatever they feel you deserve.
• The payment is processed securely through Stripe.
• 100% of the tip amount reaches your Stripe account — we take zero commission.
• The funds are available in your Stripe account virtually instantly, subject to Stripe's standard processing times.

This means a single fan who tips $5 generates more revenue for you than approximately 1,000–1,600 streams on a traditional platform. Ten fans tipping $5 each in a week — that's $50 in your pocket, instantly, with full transparency.

4.2.1 Monthly Recurring Tips

Fans can choose to make their tip a monthly recurring contribution with a single toggle in the tip widget. When a fan enables monthly tipping:

• Their chosen amount is automatically charged on the same date each month via Stripe subscriptions.
• 100% of each monthly payment reaches your Stripe account — zero platform commission, identical to one-time tips.
• The subscription renews automatically until the fan cancels. Fans can cancel at any time through Stripe or by contacting support.
• Each monthly payment is recorded as a separate completed donation in your Tip Portal, so you can track recurring revenue alongside one-time tips.
• You can view active subscribers, projected monthly recurring revenue, and next billing dates in real time on the Tip Portal dashboard.

Recurring tips provide predictable, stable monthly income — a fan who commits to $10/month generates $120/year for you, automatically, with no effort on your part. Ten fans at $10/month is $100 in guaranteed recurring revenue every single month.

All artist payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. When a fan sends you a tip or purchases a ticket:

• The payment is processed by Stripe and deposited directly into your connected Stripe account.
• Salvaje Universe never holds your money, escrows your funds, or delays your payout.
• Funds are available in your Stripe account virtually instantly, subject to Stripe's standard payout and bank transfer timelines (typically 1–2 business days for bank deposit, or instant with Stripe Instant Payout where available).
• You manage your own Stripe account, bank account, tax forms, and payout preferences directly with Stripe.

4.5 Why You Make More With Us

On traditional streaming platforms, 1,000 streams might earn you $3–$5 — split across labels, distributors, and the platform before it reaches you, paid months later. On Salvaje Universe, a single fan who tips $5 puts more money in your pocket than 1,000 traditional streams — and it arrives instantly. You are not competing for a share of a royalty pool. You are paid directly by the people who value your art, at the moment they choose to support you.

There are no hidden fees, no recoupment clauses, no advance repayments, and no deductions. The number a fan sends is the number you receive.

To receive payments, you must connect a valid Stripe account. You are responsible for:

• Creating and maintaining an active Stripe account in good standing.
• Providing accurate tax information to Stripe as required by law.
• Ensuring your bank account and payout details are current in your Stripe dashboard.
• Complying with Stripe's terms of service, acceptable use policy, and all applicable financial regulations.

Salvaje Universe is not a party to your relationship with Stripe and does not control Stripe's processing times, fees, account holds, or payout schedules. Any disputes regarding payment processing should be directed to Stripe. We facilitate the connection but do not intermediate the transaction.

If your Stripe account is suspended, restricted, or unable to receive payments, you are responsible for resolving the issue with Stripe. We are not liable for payments that cannot be processed due to Stripe account issues on your end.

You have complete control over every revenue stream available to you on the Platform:

• Pricing: You set your own ticket prices, merch prices, and tip suggestion amounts. We never override your prices.
• Content availability: You decide which tracks are public, which are exclusive, and which are tied to specific merch or events.
• Exclusivity: You are not required to grant us exclusivity. You may distribute your music on other platforms simultaneously.
• Withdrawal: Because payments go directly to your Stripe account, there is no Platform-held balance to withdraw from. Your money is never in our custody.
• Data: You have full access to your analytics, fan engagement data, and revenue records at all times.

By uploading your music to the Platform, you grant Salvaje Universe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, stream, display, and distribute your music within the Platform for the purpose of making it available to listeners. This license:

• Is non-exclusive — you retain the right to distribute your music anywhere else.
• Is royalty-free to the Platform — we do not charge you a fee to host your music, and we do not take a cut of your revenue.
• Survives only as long as your music is on the Platform. If you remove your music, the license terminates for future use, though content already shared by fans (e.g., clips) may persist per our Terms of Use.

You represent and warrant that you own or have obtained all necessary rights to the music, artwork, lyrics, and metadata you upload, and that your content does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights. You are solely responsible for clearing all samples, collaborations, and publishing rights before uploading.

All artist content must comply with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use. We reserve the right to remove content that:

• Infringes on third-party intellectual property rights.
• Contains hate speech, harassment, or illegal content.
• Is misleading, fraudulent, or violates applicable law.

If we receive a valid DMCA takedown notice regarding your content, we will remove the content and notify you. Repeat infringers will have their artist status revoked. You may appeal any takedown decision by contacting us through the Support page.

Artist status is granted through our application and review process. We may approve, reject, or revoke artist status at our discretion based on content quality, authenticity, and compliance with our policies. If your artist status is revoked:

• Your music will be removed from public feeds.
• Pending tips and payments already processed through Stripe remain yours.
• You may appeal the decision through the Support page.

You may close your artist account at any time. Upon closure, your music will be removed from the Platform, and any pending payments already in your Stripe account are unaffected.

You are solely responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes on income earned through the Platform, including tips, ticket sales, and merch revenue. Salvaje Universe does not withhold taxes on your behalf. Stripe may issue tax documents (e.g., Form 1099-K for U.S. artists) in accordance with applicable tax laws. You should consult a qualified tax professional regarding your tax obligations.

While we believe our tip-based model gives artists a fairer, more transparent, and more lucrative opportunity than traditional streaming platforms, we do not guarantee any specific level of earnings. Your revenue depends on factors including fan engagement, content quality, promotion effort, and market conditions. The Platform provides the tools — your success depends on how you use them.

We may update these Artist Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the Platform as an artist after the effective date of updated terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you may close your artist account at any time.
